Workshops

Working out Finances in Workshops

At Kith & Kin, we provide employee workshops across a range of areas.

Financial stress is one of the leading causes of cost to business. In the UK, Financial worries and stress cost businesses £1.6 billion year-on-year. Financial concerns affect us in different ways as we progress through our lives. For younger employees, stress may be related to student debt, low salaries and managing savings to buy a first home. For older employees, concerns may arise in regards to pensions and saving for later in life.

Our Workshops deal with areas such as pensions, debt & credit management, managing your money and how to go about buying your first home. Regardless of your organisations’ composition, we have programmes and workshops available to support a broad range of employee groups.

Learn more about each of our workshops below, or reach out to us to enquire about a booking for your workplace.

Making the Most of your Money

Making the Most of your Money supports employees with financial tips, advice, and actionable activities to support their Financial Health. Your team will hear from an expert Financial Advisor, giving advice on savings, credit, debt, mortgages, sickness and benefits, and wills and trusts. Throughout the session, your team will learn new skills that they can take away and action in their day-to-day lives to save money.

Ultimately, by putting skills in to practice, staff will find themselves with additional disposable income, lifting some of the Financial Pressure and improving their concentration.

Financial First Aid

Research highlights a direct link between Financial Stress, Mental Health & Physical Health. When an individual is financially stressed, they take part in high risk behaviours, which can cause mental or physical stress. Thereafter, employees may place themselves into precarious situations, and take on more debt to resolve their current debt issues, and ease mental stress. This leads to a vicious cycle, where staff use debt to solve debt, and spiral themselves in to a place of complete vulnerability and unhappiness.

Our Financial First Aid session brings both a financial advisor & clinical psychologist together. Your teams will hear from both for 30 minutes, providing actionable support & guidance. By reducing the level of financial & mental stress through proven methods, individuals can ease their physical stress or exhaustion, making them more ready for work.

Preparing for Retirement

Retirement is often regarded as one of life’s greatest stressors. Despite that fact, CIPD highlight that only 23% of employers provide retirement training. At Kith & Kin, our preparing for retirement workshop can support your employees who are considering retirement in the near future. Stopping working life creates imbalances in our life, and some employees may face periods of existentialism or struggle with the change. By providing training pre-retirement, you can help your teams will the transition, and ensure they have the resilience to cope post-retirement.

First-time Home Buyers

Buying a home is complex, with difficult processes & discussions to be had. For younger employees, the stress involved in buying a home can be overwhelming, and navigating the pitfalls and steps can be confusing. That confusion can cause distraction at work, and the stress can impact productivity. Our first-time home buyers workshop supports employees on the process toward buying their first home. We’ll educate your people on how to go about getting a mortgage, as well as introducing options such as co-ownership, which can make housing more accessible for single individuals.

With great understanding of the process, employees can focus and have their mind at ease at work.
